Coppin Place, Cremorne

Project Snapshot

Coppin Place is the pinnacle of sophistication in Melbourne’s Cremorne. Surrounded by retro signage, sustainable eateries and warehouse conversions, the inner-city suburb is an eclectic celebration of the past, with a progressive spin. This six townhouse development is an unparalleled opportunity to soak in the region’s rich culture, without compromising on luxury.

The project commenced in 2018 after VDG secured Cremorne’s biggest residential land site and inherited the plans and permits to build six boutique townhouses. Aiming to re-define the standard of quality, VDG worked with the local council and relevant authorities to improve the function and design of the townhouses, before construction commenced.

What was once a 540-square-metre vacant block, is now home to five three-bedroom townhouses, and one four-bedroom townhouse. Each residence boasts three bathrooms, powder rooms, a double garage and an opulent entryway. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining spaces flow out onto sun-filled courtyards and provide spectacular views of the city skyline and beyond.

From marble splashbacks, stone benchtops, an elevator and timber flooring to state-of-the-art kitchen appliances and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, these minimalistic and chic spaces spare no expense. Coppin Place embodies carefully-considered features, premium finishes and materials handpicked from across the globe.

Embrace Cremorne’s past and look forward to your future with Coppin Place. Equal parts enduring and enchanting, this residence is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the modern Australian family.

Project Vision

With a rich history and vibrant culture, Cremorne has come a long way from being the rural retreat for Melbourne’s professionals and the industrial suburb for many migrants that it once was. The inner-city spot is a testament to George Coppin, who saw the area’s potential in the 1850s and dedicated his efforts towards injecting a sense of grandeur into the region. Introducing hire wire acting, The Pantheon Theatre, a zoo and a Mount Vesuvius replica, the performer, politician and philanthropist reimagined the possibilities and set a new standard for Cremorne.

Almost two centuries later, VDG set out to honour the region’s rich history and pay tribute to Coppin’s vision. The resulting six-townhouse development is an exceptional preservation of history. Oversized windows are a frame for the region’s iconic landmarks, including The MCG, The Yarra River, The Botanical Gardens and the city skyline. The sun-drenched courtyards are reminiscent of afternoon gatherings in an era gone by, and the black architraves are an ode to the nearby heritage buildings.

Commencing in 2018 and completed in 2019, VDG also employed future-focussed thinking in every aspect of this project. The rich materials, premium finishes and neutral palette juxtaposes against the traditional atmosphere, ensuring the properties will evolve as time passes.

To celebrate the incredible history of Cremorne and provide an enduring space, Coppin Place is a carefully curated amalgamation of old and new. These six townhouses are an unmatched opportunity for a luxurious lifestyle in a world-class location.
